The problem
Test teams repeatedly rebuild the same scaffolding, conventions and reporting setup. CypressCraft packages those decisions into a shared starting point for E2E and API automation.
What it does
- Initialize and maintain a consistent automation project structure.
- Organize behavior scenarios with Gherkin and reusable page objects.
- Create feature files through Gherkin Builder and manage reusable steps and snippets.
- Generate HTML reports and organize data and environment configuration.
Engineering approach
A Node.js CLI extends Cypress with Cucumber/Gherkin conventions and Page Object Model. Reporting integrates the independent cypress-cucumber-report-features package. The framework is distributed through npm.
My contribution
Framework architecture, CLI workflows, reusable conventions and tools that help teams build and maintain automation suites.
Current scope
A published technical product, not just a demo template. Playwright-Craft follows the same architectural philosophy through a separate implementation and release cycle.
