Legacy browser extension
The problem
Reduce the steps needed to save media through a direct action in the browser.
What it does
- Provide manual download actions from supported pages.
- Use content scripts and a background script.
- Expose extension controls through a popup.
- Explore support for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp Web.
Engineering approach
The preserved extension uses Chrome Manifest V2 and browser download APIs. Its approach is separate from the terminal-based Instagram scraper.
My contribution
Design and implementation of the project within the scope described here.
Current scope
Historically functional, but the preserved implementation requires modernization for current browsers and websites. The source repository is private and requires access.
