The problem
Rebuilding a playlist from a text list involves repetitive searching and choosing the correct recording. AutoListSpotify automates the search while keeping a review step before export.
What it does
- Paste a song list or upload a text file.
- Parse common artist and title formats and search Spotify for matches.
- Review alternatives when more than one recording is available.
- Name the playlist and export the selected tracks to the authenticated Spotify account.
Engineering approach
A Next.js and TypeScript application using the Spotify Web API and OAuth with PKCE. The workflow separates parsing, matching, review and export; the project also includes community playlist exploration.
My contribution
Designing and building the complete text-to-playlist workflow, including parsing, API integration and the matching interface.
Current scope
A deployed MVP. Playlist creation depends on Spotify authentication, permissions and platform availability. Track matches remain reviewable before export.
